Crucial Role of Poetry in Contemporary Times: Reading 'A Poet's Promise' by Dr Rositta Joseph

On the 27th of July 2025, The Great Indian Book Tour and the Aspiring Authors Alliance of India organised a panel discussion on Dr Rositta Joseph's poetry book 'A Poet's Promise'. The session titled "Crucial Role of Poetry in Contemporary Times: Reading 'A Poet's Promise' by Dr Rositta Joseph" witnessed a highly enriching and well-attended discussion on the need for poetry today. The session was hosted by Ms Asha Singh Gaur, a noted bilingual author and education entrepreneur. The author of the book under discussion, Dr Rositta Joseph interacted with and answered questions from the three eminent expert panelists: Ms Geetika Saini, acclaimed poet and artist, Dr S Indira and Dr V Satya Sudha both scholars and professors of literature. All the panelists highly appreciated Dr Joseph's poetic prowess and highlighted various aspects of her poetry, relating it to contemporary times. This was followed by an active interaction with the audience. The session had extensive readings from Dr Joseph's poems by the author herself as well as the panelists.
