No Greater Peace

When the universe is
At war with itself
In a hostile world
Embellished with hostile hearts
Darkness feeds on souls
With every ray of light
Under attack
Then no greater peace
Than to come home.
Tiny haven of huge brightness
Absorbing sorrow seas
Into a harmony of hearts.
Hope roof over humble walls
Faith-filled food of love
Old age enchants
Youth sparkles
And animals teach humanity.
Desires, wealth, fame,
Luxury, ambition, success -
One by one, struck off the list.
When soul survival is at stake,
Body, mind, heart
Recede into the shadows.
What remains is a
First Painful
Then Peaceful
Choice –
“Home Truth”.
