Speaking Truth to Power

Literature means speaking truth to power, speaking the truth even when it is uncomfortable, learning to face the truth and live by the truth, to be able to look at yourself in the mirror and smile from the heart because you have lived fully, usefully, truthfully. As Shakespeare says, ‘To Thine Own Self Be True’.

In this context, here’s sharing two articles that express inconvenient truths, that must be read and applied in our daily lives, if we must correct our failings as a society and move towards a better world.

 

  • In this first article (link below), a brave UN official speaks harsh truths about how big powers including the USA and Israel are making huge monetary gains out of the ruthless genocide of Palestinians in the Gaza strip:

 

 

  • In the second article (images below), the author exposes several truths about the extremely unsatisfactory working conditions of English teachers in India and worldwide, calling for an end to this neglect of English and disrespect for the English teacher.
