Why Literature?

Why literature? The great question in this day of AI and “commerce-driven” learning.

There is only one answer - ask yourself a few questions. Why beauty? Why joy? Why humanity? Why hope? Why consolation? Why guidance? Why expression and sharing of emotions? Why sorrow? Why challenges? Why desire? Why despair? Why the need to celebrate the human spirit? Why the need to live life to the fullest and make it truly happy and worthwhile? Why the need to break the silence and oppose injustice?

If you really wish to know the answers to at least one of these questions, you will realise why we humans need literature so badly, and need it now more than ever before.
